Philadelphia Orchestra Volunteer Committees to Hold On That Note: An Urban Affair, April 15 at World Café Live

Jason DePue and Friends perform a special blend of bluegrass, classical, and rock

Featured live auction items include trips to Spain, Tuscany, and Martha’s Vineyard 

(Philadelphia, April 12, 2016)On That Note is back! The Volunteer Committees of The Philadelphia Orchestra host the biennial fundraiser at Philadelphia’s iconic World Café Live on Friday, April 15. The festive evening, which has become a favorite on the city’s social calendar, begins with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 6 PM, continues with dinner and a live auction, and concludes with a performance headlined by Jason DePue and Friends. The group, featuring Philadelphia Orchestra violinists Jason DePue and Mei Ching Huang, Assistant Principal Viola Kerri Ryan, cellist Richard Harlow, Principal Timpani Don Liuzzi, and Principal Harp Elizabeth Hainen, performs with guitarist Dave Cullen, banjo player Mike Munford, and dobro player Isaac Stanford to create a vivid blend of bluegrass, classical, and rock on the World Café Live stage. Additionally, the Tonics, local favorite a cappella group, provide additional musical entertainment and lead the live auction.

Auction items include a cocktail buffet for 30 in your home with the Tonics; a private tour of the Philadelphia Zoo for six people; and dinner in the Phillies Executive Suite and a game. Featured travel experiences include a trip for up to 10 in a Tuscan villa; one week in Spain for a party of four; and one week in Martha's Vineyard. Additional packages are donated by The Philadelphia Orchestra's own musicians.

The event is co-chaired by Betsy Crowell and Stacy Maria Dutton with Carole Haas Gravagno and Emilio Gravagno as honorary chairs.
